they are deadly (apparently) and they are 7
Lots of cool new stuff. Pre-boot authentication. Whole partitions can be encrypted, including the operating system itself. Like Vista Ultimate’s Bitlocker could. Except that TC works for 2000/XP/2003/Vista (regardless of license type). The Linux version no longer needs patching up after Kernel updates (really nice removing this nuisance). Also, 5 introduces a Linux GUI. Read/write speeds were enhanced drastically for Windows. No reason to stay with older versions.
Just found this:
You want to build your own Ubuntu based livecd, having the complete control over the installed software but you don’t know where to start? Minibuntu is here to help you!
Minibuntu is a fully working Ubuntu livecd containing only the minimal set of software to make the system work. Minibuntu ISO image is only 138MB.
After downloading minibuntu you can use Ubuntu Customization Kit, Reconstructor or any other tool to remaster the ISO and add the software/configurations you want, building your own Ubuntu based livecd.
This surely fills a gap. :)
You miss pine? You need it? You are not alone! Yes, the waiting ends here (wasn’t developed actively since 2005). Upgrade to Alpine 1.00. They are even “holding” a version for Windows.

Some things should be noted and eventually acted upon:
Removed features:
* It is no longer possible to create new volumes encrypted with 64-bit-block encryption algorithms (Blowfish, CAST-128, and Triple DES). 64-bit block ciphers are being phased out. It is still possible to mount such volumes using this version of TrueCrypt. However, it will not be possible to mount such volumes using TrueCrypt 5.0 and later versions (this applies also to volumes encrypted with AES-Blowfish and AES-Blowfish-Serpent, which have been in the process of being phased out since TrueCrypt 4.1). If you have such a volume, we recommend that you create a new TrueCrypt volume encrypted with a 128-bit-block encryption algorithm (e.g., AES, Serpent, Twofish, etc.) and that you move files from the old volume to the new one.
Grub Error 5 – this usually means that something is wrong with the partition table. OR you’ve added another HD to your PC and &§$%§&$ Grub won’t accept those changes and refuses to still boot your &%&$&%§%”% PC! But don’t worry, shutting down the PC and changing the cables, until Grub is happy again, will do the trick… Of course, the fact that at least one of the installed systems would boot anyway, is of no concern to Grub. ERROR 5!!!
Someday I will have seen all your numbers. But not yet. Until next time!
Check out this great collection of programs!
That’s standard. How it’s set up after installation.

And this fucking skin makes me wanna destroy something. All pictures are cut off at the side, although there would be enough space to make them twice as big. Now I had to resize them and they suck, but I won’t waste any more time with it.

I thought it was already very well integrated into the desktop, but well, bring it on.
