On June 4, 2007, information and download links for QuickTime Alternative have been removed from the website of its developer, codecguide.com, at the request of Apple. The latest version, 1.81, released on May 2, 2007, can still be found on many download sites, and as part of some other programs that incorporate it. It is presumed that no further versions of QuickTime Alternative will be developed.
